There is never one single ‘silver bullet’ cure-all for business performance improvement. HCP Management Consultants (HCP) recognises this and has subsequently developed a Two Week High Performance Diagnostic Program made up of a number of tools and techniques, designed to:

  • identify and quantify improvements in efficiency and effectiveness resulting in reductions in cost, capital commitments, and resource requirements,
  • deliver improvements in quality of service and quality of products provided from that service, and
  • enhance our clients strategic position, made possible from a clearer perspective of strategy.

Drawing on our extensive skills and experience in the performance improvement field, HCP’s Two Week High Performance Diagnostic Program provides short term results in the form of ‘Quick Wins’ as well as information identifying the potential and extent of improvements available from an investment in a longer term program of organisational transformation and renewal.

Two Week High Performance Diagnostic Program:
Mission: Work with client managers and staff in a pilot area to analyse, identify and implement a short, sharp strategically aligned performance improvement program.
Approach: Conduct pilot in area such as single production/service line, small Business Unit, independent product or product range or functional Department (e.g. Shared Services).
Expected results: Extensive cost reduction, strategy re-alignment and customer satisfaction, similar to the benefits described in the following case study.

Outputs from Program: Program content will vary in accordance with specific needs of our clients. In most cases we will deliver some or all of the following outputs from a pilot area:
  • Quick Wins: Opportunities that can be implemented immediately leading to short term results.
  • Strategic Analasys: Evaluation of the business from a strategic perspective. Content can include an assessment of strategy, market positioning, core competence analysis, strategy profiling, etc.
  • Cost/Business Model using Agile ABC Principles: PC based cost model reflecting activity and process costs, capacity constraints and product, customer, market profitability in pilot area.
  • Agile Operations Assessment: Recommendations concerning use of existing technology and operational processes and benefits that can be obtained from reduction in ‘waste’ in processes.
  • Supply Chain Optimisation: Assessment of supply chain effectiveness and qualification of opportunities quantified in Agile ABC Business Model.
  • Change Readiness Assessment: Understanding of organisation’s culture and assessment of people issues and/or climate for change.
