HCP specialises in the service and delivery of strategic management consulting services. Offering a ‘whole of business solution’, our charter is encapsulated in our business philosophy:

Our firm consists of a core group of highly experienced and qualified professionals. With access to a broad network of independent consultants, and alliance partners who are also specialists in their own field, we are able to provide a breadth of services, from strategy formulation through to the implementation of solutions and delivery of results.

Our Methodology – Solutions founded in research

Whilst our our fully integrated Strategic Management Framework provides the infrastructure for our strategy, the Strategic Architecture provides the basis for the continual renewal of strategy and the conduct of ‘strategic conversations’. Illustrated below, the Strategic Architecture highlights gaps in strategy and the basis for execution through a ‘Pathway to Implementation’. HCP Consulting Solutions: HCP recognises the different stages of strategic change. We define strategic change as:  

“The process of organisational transformation and renewal, led by strong leadership and the application of creativity to develop innovative solutions, which are implemented through entrepreneurial behaviours. These are fortified through a culture of learning and knowledge and are informed through comprehensive business intelligence. The process draws on the entire organisations capabilities, competences, and individuals skills with the objective of delivering operational excellence as well as the ability to realise growth, increases in shareholder value and the creation of new wealth” 



Each stage requires different skills and different capabilities. Our research has shown that many business leaders are caught in the often necessary, but less rewarding process of restructuring. Moving on to the next stage of revitalisation is essential if an organisation is to develop and grow. Our research has also shown that unless restructuring is undertaken effectively, i.e. with a view to building the correct skills, capabilities and strategic assets for the future, a move into revitalisation will not be successful.

Sustainability: Environment, accountability, social and economic values
HCP is committed to the four interlinked pillars of sustainability – environment, accountability, social and economic.
In recognition of this commitment, HCP will not provide its services to organisations that do not respect the principles of sustainability. At all times we will work within the confines of our own Sustainability Charter . This says that HCP will:

  • work with all stakeholders to help achieve environmental, social, and economic sustainability
  • whenever possible, demonstrate that we recognise the importance of the environment to the community’s well being
  • consciously acknowledge that we are all dependent upon natural systems, resources and processes
  • demonstrate our support for a commitment to help reverse, where possible, adverse environmental trends.
  • acknowledge that humans share the environment with many other non-human species
  • recognise that we must change accepted habits to find more sustainable ways
  • acknowledge that we must strive to improve our understanding of our society and its interaction with the natural environment.

Our commitment to the community
As a knowledge based organisation, we will seek to return to the community the learning and knowledge it has provided to us. We will therefore, strive to provide support and resources to learning institutions that provide management education programs. In particular, we will seek opportunities to research and develop contemporary management theory, ideally in collaboration with our clients and academic institutions.

Strategy Survey: HCP's Strategic Management Institute conducted a survey into the formulation, implementation and effectiveness of strategic management in Australian organisations.
